Not sure about your EPC rating? You can check your home's Energy Performance Certificate on the GOV.UK EPC register.

2Income Requirements

Your total household income must be £36,000 per year or less.

However, you may still qualify even if your income is higher if:

  • A member of your household receives qualifying benefits

3Qualifying Benefits

If you or someone in your household receives any of the following benefits, you may qualify regardless of your income:

Universal Credit
Pension Credit
Child Tax Credit
Working Tax Credit
Income Support
Income-based Jobseeker's Allowance (JSA)
Income-related Employment and Support Allowance (ESA)
Housing Benefit
Child Benefit (with income conditions)

4Information for Landlords

Landlords can also apply on behalf of their tenants. However, landlords may be required to contribute towards the cost of some improvements.

The property must still meet the EPC and location requirements listed above.

6Understanding EPC Ratings

An Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) rates your home's energy efficiency on a scale from A (most efficient) to G (least efficient). To qualify for the Warm Home Grant, your property needs a rating of D, E, F, or G.

Most older homes in the UK fall into these categories. If your home was built before 2000 and hasn't had significant energy improvements, it's very likely to qualify.
